To Do Good, we must Communicate and Collaborate

Submitted by dgk on Wed, 12/08/2004 - 4:59pm.
Here's a quote found on a site for people who have special challenges in life. Please read it and then share your thoughts: To do good in the world, you don't need institutional wealth, buildings, and treasuries. To self-organize, you don't need creeds, dictums, laws, governments, and rulers. People just need to do be free to do two things: talk and act. You just need to be able to communicate with others of like mind and then to collaborate with them in resolving needs. All conversation inevitably leads to understanding. Understanding leads to acceptance and concern, which in turn naturally leads to the desire to act. --- Ray Matthews Editor RSS in Government

To Do Good

Submitted by shilahlove on Wed, 08/20/2008 - 8:45am.
Such a loaded question,it breaks my heart to see Native Corp.'s embrace the D.o.D. contracts. It seems to me that Ahtna Inc. has the "Stockholm Syndrome"(Stockholm syndrome is a psychological response sometimes seen in an abducted hostage, in which the hostage shows signs of loyalty to the hostage-taker, regardless of the danger (or at least risk) in which they have been placed.-Wikipedia). The solution I believe is to eradicate US government dependence and become truly self sufficient. But the lure of Corporate Deviates is to great, the Ahtna people without traditional leadership and with a surrogate Judaic religion are in peril, my guess is blind-bliss and a couple of dividend checks sedate the people.
