Managed Business Solutions Acquired by Sealaska Corp.

01/17/2007

Managed Business Solutions, LLC, (MBS), a global information and technology outsourcing and consulting firm, announced that Sealaska Corporation, a Native corporation formed under the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act, has purchased a majority equity investment in the company.

ebizQ received the following details:

MBS, based in Colorado Springs, Colorado, has been providing complete IT solutions worldwide since 1993. It is a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner and a Hewlett Packard approved Service Partner with extensive industry experience in managed services, application development, business intelligence and technology migrations.

Sealaska's investment will strengthen MBS' market position by delivering diversity supply solutions in a range of regions, according to Russell Dick, Director of Sealaska's Office of Diversity Solutions. "There is a growing demand for supplier diversity across all market sectors," he said. "MBS can now meet that distinct need."

"We're delighted to be a part of Sealaska," said MBS CEO Richard Noe. "We appreciate what Sealaska has achieved in the commercial and government sectors and recognize the significance of the Native values that drive the corporation." According to Noe, MBS customers will benefit from this new partnership by being able to achieve their corporate diversity goals from a certified minority company while achieving a high quality service to meet their information technology needs.

MBS currently provides services for more than 40 data centers with clients in 11 states and 10 countries. It has a successful track record in supporting more than 2000 custom and off-the-shelf software applications.

"Sealaska was attracted to MBS because of its reputation in the IT outsourcing industry," said Chris McNeil Jr., Sealaska President and CEO. "MBS' customers improve their system processes and performance plus increase business productivity, all while achieving an average of 20 percent cost savings annually."

"We are looking to form strategic alliances with prime contractors as their preferred subcontractor, as well as maintain and expand our existing business," said Noe. "There are very few IT companies that can match the level of benefits we now offer government and private sector companies."

SOA In Action

Nov 19, 2008

SOA is a long journey, not a single project, and distributed architectures are inherently complex. Success requires new ways of working, creating more efficient cross organization processes, adopting new tools, and building new skills.Register
